{"id":3045,"date":"2019-10-30T11:16:22","date_gmt":"2019-10-30T11:16:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bitcoinsv.io\/?p=3045"},"modified":"2020-09-28T07:08:29","modified_gmt":"2020-09-28T07:08:29","slug":"bitcoin-sv-node-v0-2-2-beta-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinsv.io\/2019\/10\/30\/bitcoin-sv-node-v0-2-2-beta-release\/","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin SV Node v0.2.2 Beta Release"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Bitcoin SV Node team released version 0.2.2 of the Bitcoin SV Node implementation today. <strong>This  version is an optional beta release for use on the BSV mainnet; however it is a required release for the Scaling Test Network.<\/strong> <strong>We encourage node operators to upgrade to this version but advise caution and careful monitoring, especially for miners. We also recommend that miners  maintain an instance of version 0.2.1 as a precaution. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key features of this version are an increased transaction  throughput capacity; this version is able to process more transactions per second and produce blocks with higher numbers of transactions. Preliminary testing on the Scaling Test Network show an increase from a sustained 200 transactions per second for version 0.2.1 to about 400 transactions per second with this version. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The key features in this release are: <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Parallel Transaction Validation &#8211; the capability to validate multiple transactions simultaneously <br> <\/li><li>Incremental Block Assembly &#8211; the capability for miners to continually build bigger blocks <br> <\/li><li>Internal Block Streaming &#8211; internal changes that reduce the memory requirements for processing large blocks, decoupling the memory  requirements from the block size <br> <\/li><li>Scaling Test Network Reset &#8211; the scaling test network blockchain is rapidly approaching 2 terabytes of data. In order to simplify testing the Scaling Test Network is being reset.<br> <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These features bring substantial improvements to the capacity of  the Bitcoin SV blockchain and also pave the way for future capacity  improvements within the software. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The improvements included in this version have required extensive  changes to the software and due to the complexity of these changes, we are designating this release as a &#8220;beta&#8221; version. We encourage node operators to upgrade to this version but advise caution and careful monitoring, especially for miners.
